During a 26" snowstorm my friend's lab mate hiked 5 miles to lab, got stranded there and stayed there for 2 nights, sleeping on the floor and eating from vending machines.

...and you thought phd life couldn't get any worse...

We used to joke in the lab on what we can eat in the lab- FBS! Not to mention the cell culture medium. Very nutritious! :P
