INTJ

Just took the Myer-Briggs 4-letter personality code test. And this is what it posted for me:

Your Type is INTJ
Introverted Intuitive Thinking Judging
Strength of the preferences %
100 50 25 33

This sounds familiar:

Typical INTJ career choices are in the sciences and engineering, but they can be found wherever a combination of intellect and incisiveness are required (e.g., law, some areas of academia).

and

Personal relationships, particularly romantic ones, can be the INTJ's Achilles heel. While they are capable of caring deeply for others (usually a select few), and are willing to spend a great deal of time and effort on a relationship, the knowledge and self-confidence that make them so successful in other areas can suddenly abandon or mislead them in interpersonal situations.

This happens in part because many INTJs do not readily grasp the social rituals; for instance, they tend to have little patience and less understanding of such things as small talk and flirtation (which most types consider half the fun of a relationship). To complicate matters, INTJs are usually extremely private people, and can often be naturally impassive as well, which makes them easy to misread and misunderstand. Perhaps the most fundamental problem, however, is that INTJs really want people to make sense. :-) This sometimes results in a peculiar naivete', paralleling that of many Fs -- only instead of expecting inexhaustible affection and empathy from a romantic relationship, the INTJ will expect inexhaustible reasonability and directness.

OUCH.

Yeeeha! Hello there, my fellow INTJ brudder!

Because of your scores, you may also wish to read the type descriptions of INFJ and INTP; possibly INFP too. You will see yourself in those descriptions too.

You are clearly an intuitive introvert; but your scores show that you will sometimes behave an "F" rather than a "T"; and a "P" rather than a "J".

Thanks for the tip. Came across this:

Games NTs seem to especially enjoy include Risk, Bridge, Stratego, Chess, Go, and word games of all sorts.

Only a week ago, during a conversation with a friend:

Me: what kept (and brought) me and my first gf together was our love for (Spore-style first, later contract) bridge. we knew each other's style inside out.

Friend: what do you do on dates?

Me: play bridge (usually with another 2 close friends, or another couple)

Friend: analyse bridge too?

Me: yup.

Myer-Briggs is scary.

I used to play chess competitively. I used to captain the NUS chess team ...

Btw, to see what you are most definitely not, take each of your letters and flip. That is, read the type description for ESFP. This will be the kind of personality furthest away from yours (and mine).

well, i did the test and is classified as an INTJ too. my score is I,N,T,J = 78,25,1,33%.

what i found amazing is the shockingly accurate accompanying descriptions of the "Mastermind Rational" & Heiss' analysis.

Probably because blogging is a solitary activity, and INTJs are introverts?

I guess your question only answers to the part of I-introvert.

I'm an ISTJ - I: 89%, S: 38%, T: 75%, J: 89%.

ISTJ forms 10% of the population.

Basically IN's will be overrepresented in the blogging community.

IN's have a lot going on in their heads - and writing is one useful avenue for them to sort out all that endless activity in their brain cells.
